Said the Whale
Said the Whale is a Canadian music group based in Vancouver. While they have been favourably compared to The New Pornographers, the Whales have described their own sound as "nautical indie-rock goodness", "bubblegum folk", and just about everything in between. They debuted in 2007 with the album Taking Abalonia (later re-released as Howe Sounds/Taking Abalonia), but have since played several high-profile Canadian gigs and toured with groups like Hey Rosetta!, Mother Mother, Hey Ocean, and Hot Hot Heat.
