Runaways (comics)/Awesome
- Chase has a pretty big one.
Chase: (the group has just detained Victor) Don't worry this psycho killer ain't going anywhere.
Victor: What's... what's your power?
Chase: A poor upbringing (brandishing knife)
- In the first story arc, after the teens' second encounter with their evil parents:
Leslie (Karolina's mom): "You think you've beaten us? We haven't even used a fraction of our strength against you. One the kid gloves come off, your parents will annihilate you. We brought you children into this world..."
Alex Wilder: "And we can take you out." (knocks her out with a big magic stick.)
- Villainous example: Alex Wilder's revelation at the climax of the first volume of his excellent Evil Plan, as well as gaining the powers of half the titular team. Granted, it doesn't last, but it was pretty awesome.
- Hell even the team's psychic dinosaur gets its own CMOA. After Chase fell off a building, Old Lace managed to grab him by the jacket, dug her claws into the building, and ran up it to get Chase onto the roof. Made even more awesome because while the rest of the team is wondering if Chase and Old Lace just died, Molly guesses exactly what happened, and that leads into...
- While Molly is ecstatic that she was completely right about how Chase and Old Lace survived, and was wondering why everybody else was not as amazed as she was, the next panel reveals that behind her is The Punisher. The entire team is frozen, uncomprehending, dumbstruck...and then Molly gut-punches him! The cutest damn twelve-year old you will ever see, who was seconds ago explaining how the rest of the team should be "awesomed" by her, turns around and clocks the Punisher. Yes, that Punisher. The thought-bubble that appears for him next, labeled as "Punishers War Journal," is quite eloquent in its simplicity: "Hnhnhnhnhnnnnnnn" as he clutches his stomach and doubles over in pain. A few pages later Molly is fighting off large groups of ninjas ("More than the usual amount") and facing the Kingpin of Crime, but honestly, there's no way she's ever going to top that one panel.
- It can be considered a CMOA for The Punisher as well, as he manages to take a punch from her and not fall over. He stands against a girl who's punch sent Wolverine flying. "A Soldier Stands."
- Crowning Moment of Awesome: Each character has their own, at one point or another, even if no two fans can agree on which point it is for each. Some are more obvious than the others, such as when Alex reveals he was the Mole and brandishes the combined powers of Nico, Chase, and Gert after having also neutralized the Pride and the Runaways, but they are all epic (I do not believe it is possible to top seeing The Punisher get cold-cocked by the cutest twelve-year-old girl you will ever see in a hat).
- Which is followed by a Crowning Moment of Funny as The Punisher recovers:
Punisher's War Journal: "Hhhhhhhhhhhh...Got Past me...so little...Don't fall down.A soldier doesn't fall down. A soldier stands."
