Rework the Dead: Evil/YMMV
- Breather Level: Level 10. You get the Chain Gun and roughly ten thousand bullets, use it to mow down a few enemies with gusto, and it's over. You'll soon find out, however, that the new weapon is barely enough for what comes next.
- Demonic Spiders: The two types of Giant Mooks from the last levels, very resistant even to the super-powerful final weapon. One type seems to have some characteristics of a spider, so it may be a literal case.
- Fridge Horror: Following The Reveal, you will start wondering how much of what you saw and fought so far (and not counting what comes after) was due to the hallucinations caused by the Rework infection. For all we know, even Davis may be not real, and the entire game may happen only in Leigh's dying mind.
- Goddamned Bats: The gray Reworks. More resistant to small arms (the only ones you have the first times you meet them) than the red ones and with a strong tendency to lose their legs but leave the rest intact, so they can easily eat your feet.
- Hell Is That Noise: You'll learn to be on your toes every time you hear the hissing sound of a Rework coming at you. There's also that sort of gurgle, signaling an ambush nearby. And then there's Id's roar...
- Nightmare Fuel: Where to start?
- Team Happy Rainbow Panda Bears logo. I mean, damn.
- The presence of furries doesn't make the game lighter. If anything, like the original webcomic, they make it even more unsettling.
- Id makes his presence known with a horrible sound and soon after there's his introduction cutscene, where he stares at Leigh without his eyes and lower jaw.
- Some very unnerving sounds.
- Later levels have Leigh swimming in pools of blood.
- In the last level, the giant hearts. Innocuous (they just stand where they are) but incredibly freaky.
- And then there's all the Fridge Horror...
- Scrappy Mechanic: Several players don't like the slow healing of adrenaline, especially in some tight situations, coupled with the fact that it gives unlimited stamina for a while – and then you are completely out of it for an equal amount of time.
- Squick
- The very first screen you see as you launch the game could get the dubious honor of being the most morbid logo of a videogame developer, ever. Since it has been mentioned more than once already, see for yourself. (Warning! Very NSFW)
- Heavy weapons lead to very, very messy results, like organs splattered on walls and blood dripping from ceilings.
- The Supernaut may even be a bit Narm for some (a yellow dinosaur? With a little arm on its forehead?), but it becomes less fun when you realize you have to peel its scales off piece by piece - and like all enemy remains, they stay on the floor while the monster becomes more and more bloodied.
- That One Boss
- Id. Besides his initial invulnerability that forces to player to flee to safety, he’s got a strange attack that depletes the stamina bar, so you cannot just run away from him - you have to shoot and take damage.
- The Supernaut. It’s not that hard, it just takes a lot of time to finally kill him, and you’ll finish with a lot less bullets in your Chain Gun.
