• Easter Egg: Sometimes after getting the "skull" item (which explodes all on-screen enemies to bits), Steven can be heard saying Toasty! in a high-pitched voice.
• Hey, It's That Guy!: Many of the character models were also used for the "Mortal Kombat" games.
  • The actress who plays Helga is Kerri Hoskins, who would later go on to play Sonya in Mortal Kombat 3 and all its upgrades. She also played all of the hostages in this game.
• Hey, It's That Voice!: Famed Pinball game designer Steve Ritchie (the voice of Shao Kahn) was the voice of Mondor.
• Shout-Out: "It's only a flesh wound!"
• What Might Have Been: Aerosmith was actually the third choice for a featured band. Before Aerosmith, they had approached Guns N' Roses and Public Enemy.
  • Public Enemy had also been considered for a sequel to this game, but said sequel never happened.
