Red Scarf Girl

It begins with her as a happy twelve year old girl who is among the top in her class at school, and then the Revolution happens. Over the next two years, Ji-Li is revealed to be the descendant of a landlord (making her a member of the hated five black classes). She is turned into an outcast at school, her family humiliated and much more.
