Reamde/YMMV

  • Non Sequitur Scene: The entire plotline of the "Wor" between the Earthtone Coalition and the Forces of Brightness is never resolved and has no impact at all on the main plot of Zula's capture.
  • Mary Suetopia: Prohibition Crick comes across like this, particularly Jake's household. From what we see, everyone is friendly, level-headed and well-adjusted in spite of being isolated survivalists. The fact that they're paranoid gun nuts is actually vindicated by the plot, since catastrophe really does strike their community and they're perfectly prepared to meet the danger.
    • But if they hadn't have been paranoid gun nuts, they'd never have been in the danger.
    • A contrasting viewpoint comes from Solokov, who, as a Russia, regards them as dangerous proto-terrorists.
