Racing Lagoon/YMMV
- Critical Dissonance: A particularly extreme case. The game fared poorly among Japanese critics, but it didn't stop the game from selling well in Japan. It's also considered to be a game that's most wanted among Famitsu readers.
- Even more, Famitsu put the game in their "Most Wanted Sequels" chart.
- Crowning Music of Awesome: Pretty much the whole soundtrack. It's sort of techno-jazz and it's pretty damn good.
- Ensemble Darkhorse: Akira Tsujimoto.
- Game Breaker: The three magic broken parts are Venus & Mars, Double Impact, and Lo Comp -1. And this is for the engine, the most important part of your car.
- The Backyard-SP (Lotus Europa) body is lightweight and very aerodynamic, as is the Type-EURO chassis.
- Goddamned Bats/Demonic Spiders: The random-encounter racers during Story mode.
- Narm: The way they rig the characters.
- Needs More Love: In spite of the game selling well, critics treated this game poorly, going double to Famitsu, which is known for giving Squaresoft published games high grades. It also never saw release outside of Japan, perhaps because of this negativity.
- Player Punch: Got in to the Yokohama GP? Congratulations. Too bad you had to ruin Kyoji Nanaba's dream in the process to the point he decided to kill himself. Must be worth it to enter a Grand Prix tournament after all that.
- That One Boss: Fujisawa's Taiman.
- Darkness GP and Diablo Zeta as well.
- Team leaders are nigh impossible to beat in their home turfs.
- That One Level: New C1 is very narrow and has a lot of corners comparing to other tracks. Also, Bay Lagoon Tower.
