REUNION
REUNION is a Kim Possible story written by G-Go. Ron left Kim during college to train himself to become a more effective hero. At their ten-year high-school reunion, Kim and Ron meet up for the first time since their split. She is now engaged to a guy named Ray Beam and Ron has become the costumed crimefighter Ronin. But old flames don't die that easily. And a new villain, Deathray, out to kill Kim...
Its sequel, UNION, can be found here.
Tropes used in REUNION include:
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Deathray's computer. In the sequel, it takes on the name Apollyon and dedicates itself to the destruction of all life on Earth.
- Big Damn Heroes: Shego of all people, when Kim and Ron are cornered by Deathray's clone army.
Deathray: You can't possibly expect to come out of this alive. After all, the odds are fifty against two.
Shego(after making her entrance): Fifty against three.
- Cloning Blues: Deathray creates multiple clones of himself. And one of Kim.
- Expendable Clone: Ray replaces Kim with an obedient clone of her before their wedding. When Wade reveals to the congregation that he's really Deathray, he allows the clone to die while he escapes.
- Kill All Humans: The long-term goal of Apollyon in the sequel.
- Meaningful Name: Ray Beam alias Deathray.
- Naturalized Name: According to Ron, the origin of the name 'Stoppable'. His great great grandfather, when he first arrived at Ellis Island, declared, "I am Nicholai! I am unstoppable!" The immigration agent wrote down "N. Stoppable". According to Ron, "He thought that's how America worked. Come to America, you get a new life, and a new name. He was actually very proud of it."
- Official Couple: Kim and Ron are the main pairing.
- Pair the Spares: At the end of Reunion, Monique asks Wade to dance at Kim and Ron's wedding reception. In Union, she and Wade are dating.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Shego quickly learns to regret her partnership with Deathray, ultimately siding with Kim and Ron against him.
- Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace: With Ron framed by Ray Beam for Deathray's crimes, Wade is forced to overcome his agoraphobia (the in-story reason why Wade rarely stepped out of his room in the series) to confront Ray at his wedding to Kim, just as the priest says "Speak now". The priest actually takes him seriously, intrigued that Wade would face a paralyzing phobia to interrupt Kim's wedding.
- Took a Level in Badass: Ron Stoppable. Boy HOWDY!
