Phantasy Star/Trivia
- No Export for You: Sega made remakes of the first two games, titled Phantasy Star Generation 1 and Generation 2. Too bad they're only available in Japan.
- To a less annoying extent, the Mega Drive text adventures and the various Game Gear and Master System games as well.
- Vaporware: PSIV was supposed to be remade in the same vein as Generation 1 and Generation 2. However, it was canceled in favor of a Compilation Rerelease.
- Phantasy Star Online 2 was announced for release in North America in 2013. Since then, it has been pushed back to "TBA 2014". Most English-speaking players on the Japanese server have since given up and decided that even if the game makes it across the Pacific, they will remain on the Japanese server.
- What Could Have Been: Design documents for Phantasy Star II, which were published in a 10th Anniversary collection, show a great deal of cut functionality and content from Phantasy Star II. Originally all characters would have had their own types of weapons and armor, and would have had PS 4-like Skills in addition to their techniques. Shir was also supposed to be able to steal items from enemies in battle at higher levels. Hugh also was supposed to have techniques that allowed him to control Biomonsters and communicate with them to avoid conflict (like the Talk and Chat spells in PS 1).
- As stated in the main section, Rika of PSII was originally meant to be Nei.
