< Peter Gabriel
Peter Gabriel/YMMV
- Awesome Music: Lots of it.
- Face of the Band: He was this for Genesis before he left.
- First and Foremost: "In Your Eyes" has been covered by multiple different artists, from Post Punk to Christian, but none of them have ever even made a dent in the original's popularity.
- Freud Was Right: Probably intentional. Most of the lyrics of "Sledgehammer" and "Kiss That Frog" are innuendos, and "Big Time" is all about the desire to own a big house, a big car; live in the big city, etc.
- "And the bulge of my big big big big big big big big big big big big big big BIG!"
- Non Sequitur Scene: "This Is The Picture (Excellent Birds)", the penultimate track on So. The song is great, but very weird and comes out of nowhere in the context of the rest of the album.
- "Excuse Me" is this for Car: a melancholy vaudeville-style song (complete with tuba!) in an otherwise (Prog) Rock-style album.
- Paranoia Fuel: "I Don't Remember", "Out Out" (from Gremlins, a grade-A example of this), "Intruder", "No Self Control"
- Squick: The song "Mercy Street" is about writer Anne Sexton, and it implies child molestation (among other things). So naturally Gabriel thought it would be appropriate to put one of his daughters in the video (in the linked clip, she appears at about 2:33 in the back of the boat that Gabriel is pushing out to sea) .
