• Serendipity Writes the Plot: Yes, there is an old medieval town called (Old) Ladoga near the eponymous lake, but not at the location of modern St. Petersburg. The makers of Patrician III were actually close to introduce St. Petersburg as a town in the game, but they changed its name to Ladoga to avoid an Anachronism Stew after they realized that St. Petersburg was only founded in 1703.
