Patchwork Heroes

Everyone is the hero of their own story.

Patchwork Heroes is a now-completed fantasy Sprite Comic in three acts, made mainly with Final Fantasy VI sprites, modified heavily to the point of almost being original works.

The story begins when a magus named Kasaii pays a visit to his old half-yeti friend Friv, which is interrupted when they find a mysterious amnesiac girl in the snow. A journey to help her rediscover her past unfolds into something bigger than any of them could ever have imagined...

It can be read in its entirety here.

It was followed by a short-lived sequel, Order of Thorns, long since abandoned due to author disinterest in favor of Patchwork Champions.

Not to be confused with the PlayStation Portable game of the same name.

Tropes used in Patchwork Heroes include:
  • All There in the Manual: The website has a rather extensive guide to the world and various going-ons within it.
  • Five Six Races: The world is populated by humans, imps, djinni, yetis, dryads and goblins, each embodying one of the elements of the world (water, fire, air, earth, spirit, and void, respectively).
  • Omake:The 'Backstage' comics.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: The process that gives the Furies of Murosh their power slowly but surely erodes their sanity.
