Paramore/YMMV
- Alternate Character Interpretation: Upon the departure of the Farro brothers (and their exit statement), either Hayley is a self-centered diva who let fame get to her head and treated Josh and Zac as pawns for her own career, or she did nothing wrong and the brothers are just sore about not getting as much attention. And last, possible third interpretation: Hayley is naive and was being controlled by the label and her parents, and nobody in the band really did anything wrong.
- Another alternate interpretation concerning the twitpic: She's said in interviews and talks concerning the image that she had taken the picture with an old phone for no sinister reason and then lost the phone, where it was found with the image and used to hack her twitter to upload it. Either it was an accident that she didn't mean to do, she uploaded it purposely for the press it would give them, or she was telling the truth and she really did loose the phone with the pic on. Depending on your opinion of the band and your level of cynicism, it could be either of the three.
- Rumor also has it that she cheated on Josh Farro before hooking up with Chad Gilbert. Some people vehemently deny it and say that the allegations are false, stemming from Josh himself. However, there is no proof Josh said anything about how they broke up (in fact, there is no source on it), and there is no proof that what the fan said about Hayley is true either. Depending on how you want to view (she did say that she was "never really in love with Josh", an ouch considering how close the two were before they dated) it all, you could say it's true. On the other hand, if they had just stayed friends and nothing more, the band would probably be still together. YMMV though. Some say it was a long time coming either way. The same thing happened to No Doubt, though. Two members of the band dated and had a huge falling out which led to something similar happening.
- Yes, the Josh Farro/Hayely Williams romance and break up have been confirmed by both Josh and Hayley. The two seemed to be friends afterwords, but considering the amount of hate songs she directed at him... because he wanted to leave the band sometime during the filming of Decode. Run with that.
- Face of the Band: Hayley Williams. Has in the past led to Williams lashing out at the press for implying she was somehow more important than the rest of the band.
- I Am the Band: It turns out that Hayley is the only signed member of Paramore, and the others are just a glorified backing band. Hayley appears not to like this setup, but it led to the schism in the band.
- Fan Dumb: Just go to any of the Livejournal communities.
- Hate Dumb: And flipped, go to any article, page, or blog about Paramore and read comments on it, there will be a scarily large number of people bashing the band and Hayley Williams in general. Following her twitpic, most of the fandom were shocked but quickly got over it, while an alarmingly large number of people refused to believe that she uploaded it by accident and insist she's a slut whore bitch for doing so. Then following the schism, too many people began using this as an excuse to bash the remaining members.
- Fridge Logic: If Hayley swore to never sing of love if it does not exist, and this person is the only exception...
- You could also count that as a big Take That to Josh Farro, who Hayley had dated... really with all the songs on Brand New Eyes being about him (it's pretty much blatantly obvious with no bother to hide it), is it any wonder he got fed up? Of course, that also depends on how you chose to see Hayley as a person. But seriously, what a Kick the Dog moment.
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: For some reason, an unlikely cult hit with people of John Moores University, Liverpool, England, alongside the likes of Girls Aloud, Miley Cyrus and Ke$ha.
- Internet Backdraft: The inevitable outcome of Zac and Josh's departure.
- Misaimed Fandom: Despite being an alternate rock band with angsty, yet hyper, songs that seem to be more directed at teens and young adults, they have a large 'tween' following, most likely due to them releasing a song for Twilight. A number of their haters seem to be just Tween haters who target them for this following.
- Tear Jerker: Decode, The Only Exception, Brick by Boring Brick, Miracle, We Are Broken.
- When It Rains, which Hayley wrote after her friend recently committed suicide.
- A sorta one. When the Farro brothers left the band, Hayley had nothing but positive words for them, and wished them all the best. The Farros however, responded very negativly, blaming their departure on the I Am the Band example above, and claming she Not a real Christian because a song has a 'blasphemous' line in it ('The truth never set me free so I did it myself'), and had nothing but negative words to say about her. Depending on your opinion or which side you are on the above Alternate Character Interpretation, it's either a justified reaction from them, or a real Kick the Dog moment for them.
- Spiritual Successor: The band is trying very hard to make "In The Mourning" a "sequel" of sorts to Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide," going so far as to use the same guitar riff and melody. Hayley even interwove "Landslide" lyrics into this song during one of their concerts.
