Para-Ten
A webcomic by William Gibbons, a.k.a. Ashwara.
It concerns Paveline, a girl who falls off a bridge and washes downstream after forcing her brother across. Waking up in a shack greeted by an old woman, she's soon told that she's over a month's travel overland from her family and home. After learning some survival skills from the obliging couple, she starts trekking her way back through the jungle-like environment to get back home.
The comic is now completed, with 291 pages. It's certainly worth checking out, both for the story and for the unique watercolor artwork.
Tropes used in Para-Ten include:
- It's All Junk: Flik and the necklace.
- Dramatic Necklace Removal: Flik throwing away the necklace given to him by his mother.
- Freudian Excuse: Flik.
- Hartman Hips: Paveline.
- Parental Abandonment: Flik's mother, but there seems to be a reason.
- Plucky Girl: Paveline.
- Scenery Porn: Definitely shows up.
- Walking the Earth: Looks like it's going to be this way for a while at least.
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Several characters.
