One Hero, Hold the Weaksauce/Playing With
Basic Trope: The Hero doesn't have the sort of restrictions everyone else has with their abilities.
- Straight: In a world where Elemental Powers are commonplace, everyone who has the capability is restricted to one element. Morgana, on the other hand, can use multiple elements.
- Exaggerated: Morgana can channel and use all the elements -- including some that nobody else in the entire world has ever been able to harness before.
- Justified: Morgana is The Chosen One.
- Inverted: Morgana doesn't have any Elemental Powers at all. Fortunately, she compensates by becoming a Badass Normal.
- It's the villain, Merlin, who has this power, and he's become mad with power as a result.
- Subverted: Morgana can only use one element, just like everyone else with magic... she's just very good at using it.
- Double Subverted: Morgana starts out Playing with Fire, but soon discovers she can actually control other elements -- she just wasn't aware of it before. After all, she'd already discovered her elemental specialty, and had no reason to suspect she'd be any different than anyone else.
- Parodied: In a World where ice cream is only ever sold with one flavor per box, Morgana invents Neapolitan ice cream, shaking the dessert world to its foundations.
- Deconstructed: Since she doesn't have to deal with the same restrictions as everyone else, Morgana becomes very Prideful and overconfident. Others also become jealous and resentful of her talents, or grow suspicious of them -- after all, such raw power could easily be abused... In fact, she is also targeted by Smug Snakes and Manipulative Bastards for just that reason.
- Reconstructed: Morgana learns to be humble and use her abilities responsibly.
- Zig Zagged: While Morgana is able to control more than one element, this turns out to have its own limitations: she can only use one at a time, having to mentally 'switch' between them. Eventually, she grows out of this restriction. Meanwhile, others discover how to tap into their potential with other elements; while most remain talented with only one power, several learn that they're talented in two or more spheres.
- Averted: Morgana's powers work the same as everyone else's.
- Enforced: ???
- Lampshaded: "Wait, you can use wind AND fire?... HAX! I CALL HAX! CHEEETEEER!"
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: Morgana pretends to be a fire mage until she decides it's time to be serious.
- Defied: Magic A Is Magic A and all attempts to break this rule end... Poorly.
- Discussed: "If I could replicate that power, I would be the greatest mage in Arlia!'
- Conversed: Fans aruge weather or not Morgana's ablity makes her a mary sue.
- Played For Laughs: Morgana's powers aren't acutally speical, and everyone is simply too dim or dogmatic to use more than one element.
- Played For Drama: Morgana's powers cause her to be ostracized and targeted by every power-mad would-be Manipulative Bastard who learns of them. Naturally, this includes Emperor Evulz.
- Plotted A Good Waste: Turns out that Morgana's actual power is warping reality -- which was mistaken for her being able to control multiple elements, as she was unaware of her true sphere of influence.
