Robin Hood! It’s our most famous English myth, and it’s been totally stolen by Hollywood, so much so that Robin Hood has an American accent, always.
"Hi, Ah'm Rawbin Hood. Where's the Maid Marian? And the Sheriff of Nottingham? Ah’m a Nottingham man, born and bred. Ah live in Sherwood Forest. Ah’m from around here."

We wouldn't believe an English-accented Robin Hood.

"Hello. I'm Robin Hood."

"Nooo... You don't have the Nottingham twang!"
