• Alternative Character Interpretation: Does Koschei genuinely love Laika? Does he release her because he realises that Abduction Is Not Love, or because the Directions intimidate him?
  • He does seem to respect her a good deal, he never rapes her (though that isn't his style in mythology either), and he fights against the Lazarus, when the Directions couldn't force him to do that.
  • Word of God says Yes, he does.
