Night Driver
Night Driver is an Atari Arcade Game from 1976. It's the first first-person Driving Game.
You drive a sports car down a twisty road in the middle of the night. The only things visible are your car (a screen overlay) and the reflectors on the sides of the road. You have 100 seconds to score two kinds of points: one for distance traveled, and one for top speed. If you crash, you don't die, you just stop and then get going again. There are three tracks, each with different difficulty.
Not to be confused with Night Striker, another game that features cars driving in the night.
Tropes used in Night Driver include:
- Attract Mode
- Difficulty Levels: Three.
- Driving Game
- The Golden Age of Video Games
- In Vehicle Invulnerability
- No Plot, No Problem
- Scoring Points
- Timed Mission
