Necaberints Phalanx is a Gears of War fanfic that follows the story of Gordon and his squadmates starting from a few days before the sinking of Jacinto to the New Hope Research Facility. The main selling point of the fic is that Iota Squad (the squad Gordon is in) uses shields to protect themselves from enemy fire, hence the name. 16 chapters of the fic have been published and it is still in progress.[when?]
