• Accidental Innuendo: Piggy: "Hello, Loooooong John." Kermit: "What? Him too?"
  • Maybe not so accidental. Apparently Miss Piggy dated him (in addition to Flint) after Kermit abandoned her. Try not to think about the details.
    • No no, by all means, picture Tim Curry porking a Muppet.
• Non Sequitur Scene: The epic, random, and completely plot-irrelevant "Cabin Fever" number. Hilariously lampshaded when Clueless Morgan brings it up later, and his cellmates think he hallucinated it.

• Crazy Awesome: Gonzo.
• Crosses the Line Twice: There's Dead Tom who is just a skeleton being casually dropped after its stated he's always been dead. Then there's Blind Pew who keeps bumping into things because he's blind. But you laugh anyway because he's a jerk and is Large Ham in doing so.

Blind Pew: [While the cabin is burning down] I think I smell… Something burning, no?

• Crowning Music of Awesome: Would you expect anything less from Hans Zimmer?
• Ear Worm: Shiver my timbers, shiver my soul, yo-ho heave-ho...
• Even Evil Has Standards: "Shiver My Timbers" makes note of how the devil himself would have to call Captain Flint's Crew scum.
  • "I could've been a lawyer, but I have too much heart."
  • Long John's faux outrage at using a page from the Bible to make a pirate's death mark.
• Foe Yay / Ho Yay: Jim and Silver.
• Fetish Fuel: Big Fat Ugly Bug-Faced Baby-Eating O'Brien, the tightly-corseted female pirate. She only appears once, when her name is given during the roll call, and her sole purpose is to make Smollet and Arrow stare with mouths hanging open. Oh, and is a very low, scratchy bass vocalist.
• Fridge Brilliance: Someone somewhere else said this, but the Swedish Chef couldn't take the obvious role of ship's cook due to Long John Silver. Thus the random cameo.
• Magnificent Bastard: Long John Silver. Magnificence includes his convincing the gang of pirates to grovel at his feet, begging for his forgiveness, approximately thirty seconds after they have given him the Black Spot. While he is tied to a tree.
  • The fact that he's played by Tim Curry makes his Magnificent Bastard-ness inevitable.
• Narm: The Black Spot scene and many others. Probably intentional, it is a Muppet movie after all.
• Tear Jerker: The song "Love Led Us Here" as Ms. Piggy and Kermit hang from burning ropes over a cliff. Of course we know they're going to live, but when you write a song that's basically about You Are Worth Hell and give it Crowning Music of Awesome, it's hard not to get a little weepy.
  • The last scene between Jim and Long John.
• Viewer Gender Confusion: They just had to find the most androgynous looking boy in the 90's, dress him up in frilly clothes, and give him falsetto songs, just to confuse the children. According to the commentary, the actor actually went through puberty during the filming, so they had to over-dub his singing performances with older recordings of the songs.
  • This was lampshaded by a blind pirate early on, who kept calling/refering to him as a girl.
• What an Idiot!: They don't call the guy Clueless Morgan for nothing.
