Ms. 'Splosion Man
The 2011 follow up to Twisted Pixel's 2009 game 'Splosion Man for Xbox Live Arcade.
When the evil scientists finally manage to capture the deranged 'Splosion Man, the resulting celebrations inadvertently create Ms. 'Splosion Man. Sadly for them, her love of pink, shoes, and dancing takes second place to her love of 'sploding. Taking advantage of her 'splosive talents, players will guide her through an assortment of death-laden levels as well as venturing into the world outside the laboratories. Aside from much more varied locations, levels have multiple paths defined by varying degrees of difficulty, mid-air checkpoints for more difficult moments and a shopping mall to purchase unlockables.
The game was released on July 13, 2011.
- Action Bomb
- Adult Child
- Anti-Frustration Features: "The Way of the Coward" makes its return, but there's also midair checkpoints and easier routes available through levels with tougher paths being marked with a skull and crossbones.
- Ax Crazy
- Big Brother Is Watching: The society of Ms. 'Splosion Man reveals a secret ruler named Beard.
- Butt Monkey: Debbie. She stole the tutorial voice's boyfriend and is killed repeatedly in tutorial videos for it.
- Cardiovascular Love: Ms. 'Splosion Man has an aura of hearts around her head.
- Death Course
- Distaff Counterpart
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: The first bit of dialog Mighty Eternal has can come off as a bit... dark, whether it was intentional or not.
"I'M your boyfriend now!" (Said shortly before Ms. Splosion Man starts screaming in terror.)
- Eldritch Abomination: The final boss at first appears to be a human bride with Gag Boobs. Knocking it down once reveals it to be a giant ugly monster, with the human part being the top of it's head (and the Gag Boobs are it's eyes). Knocking it down again makes it take it's clothes off, revealing it's breasts to be another pair of arms.
- Every Girl Is Cuter With Hair Decs
- Gainax Ending: The single player ending starts off normally, with Splosion Man and Ms. Splosion Man getting married at a chapel. Then the scientists (and Meatenstein, who's somehow Back from the Dead and much smaller) crash the party and chase them into the dining hall. The couple then fight back, 'sploding most of them, pouring punch on a few, decapitating three scientists, and Splosion Man even hangs of of them! Afterwards, the married couple ride off into the sunset, but not before Ms. Splosion Man tosses the bouquet. It lands in Meatenstein's mouth and 'splodes, destroying the chapel and killing everyone there.
- Genki Girl: Ms. 'Splosion Man.
- Genius Ditz: Even more so than 'Splosion Man.
- Grand Theft Me: One of Ms. 'Splosion Man's powers.
- Grotesque Cute: Ms. 'Splosion Man has this in common with her male counterpart.
- Hey, It's That Voice!: Monica Rial as Ms. 'Splosion Man, and Lisa Foiles as the narrator of the tutorial. Christopher Sabat and Sonny Strait cameo as Star and Splosion Man, respectively.
- Homage: Players now navigate through a world map that is an homage to Super Mario World.
- Kiss of Death: Ms. 'Splosion Man can apparently do this as a Deus Ex Nukina.
- Let's Get Dangerous: Before starting the final boss, Ms. Splosion Man shows just how serious she's getting.
"I hope you leave enough room for my fist because i'm going to ram it into your stomach and BREAK YOUR *Censor* SPINE!"
- Made of 'Splodium
- Motor Mouth: Holy crap, she loves to talk.
- Mythology Gag: Pausing the game and going to the menu screen features the song "Donuts, Go Nuts!"
- Meat Tips might appear during the loading times.
- Nintendo Hard: Even harder than Splosion Man.
- No Fair Cheating: The game has a feature which gives the option to skip to the next checkpoint if you die too many times. This can be useful in completing the game quickly; the only catch is, you're awarded no coins for beating the level (which can unlock items), and you're given a huge ass for the rest of the level.
- Not Quite Dead: Mighty Eternal, the giant robot boss from the first Splosion Man, is fought again halfway through the first level. He is heavily damaged from the previous fight, missing a hand and eye, and even stutters when he talks, yet he's hellbent on trying to kill Ms. Splosion Man.
- Pink Girl
- Platform Hell: It truly starts in World 1-2 and doesn't let up.
- Rule of Fun: Much in the same vein as its predecessor.
- Rule 63
- Shout-Out: The entire game is wall-to-wall Shout-Outs. Now it has its own page.
- Something Person: "Ms. 'Splosion Man".
- Splode With You
- Squick: Ms. 'Splosion Man's thoughts on the Spice Girls' lyrics "You wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends" is 'ew'.
- Stuff Blowing Up: The Game (Part II).
- Take That: In the first level, the scientists have captured Splosion Man and have hoisted a huge star-spangled banner stating "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Enter Ms. Splosion Man...
- The Jimmy Hart Version: The song that plays during the single player ending sounds very much like Sweet's Ballroom Blitz.
- Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Ms. 'Splosion Man looks very much like 'Splosion Man, except she's pink, has a bow, and a slightly larger bust. Lipstick and eyelashes also included.
- Unexpected Gameplay Change: The fight against the final boss is done Punch-Out style.
- Valley Girl: "Oh em gee!"
- Woman Scorned: One achievement is called "Hell Hath No Fury."
- X Meets Y: Splosion Man meets Dee Dee.
- Yandere
- Your Head Asplode: Happens to the Bionic Bommando boss via Kiss of Death, and a pastor in the single player ending.
