Moon Crest 24
A comic being drawn by Spoonyliger.
Inspired by the new blood of Vampire media, Moon Crest 24 brings the night walkers into the daylight of a Manga-styled Graphic Novel.
For the past 11 years, Derek has been living in a cemetery where he was taken care of by the spirit of a mysterious woman named Claudia. What Derek does not know yet is that he carries a destiny within him, which will lead him into saving the world from demonic forces. Along the way, Derek will discover what is most important to him, and find his true self.
Tropes used in Moon Crest 24 include:
- All Men Are Perverts: All except for Daniel, it seems like.
- Animal Motifs: Rachael has bunnies, Liz has horses
- Non animal motifs: Lucy has ladybugs and Dory has moons and stars
- Anime Hair: Drake and Daniel have pretty zany hair, alright!
- Aura Vision: Lucy seems to have this in a way akin to reading heatsignatures
- Badass Cape: Belonging to Drake. Derek also has one when he's first introduced, though it's worn and ragged
- Beach Episode: Chapter 5, with plenty of Fan Service coming from the beach goers
- BFS: Inverted; Drake uses a rapier. Justified with the Ice Titan, seeing as he's a titan
- Big Breasts, Big Deal: Dory seems to be a type V
- Bishonen: Dwayne, with Bishie Sparkle to prove it
- Black Eyes of Evil: Averted, Derek has what are basically black circles for his eyes with no sclera to speak of, but is far from evil
- Bland-Name Product: KB Games and Cool Topic
- Blank White Eyes
- Cast Full of Pretty Boys: Do any of the men look like they have even one sport of hair on their chests?
- Catch Phrase: "What the fetch?"
- Chaste Hero: Derek doesn't quite get why Dory laughs at him when she sees him with Lucys clothes on, poor guy thinks he put them on backwards
- Classic Villain: From his evil laugh to his twisted perspective on mankind, Aleck Von Zander is a villain of villains.
- Conveniently Empty Building: Averted, people can be seen inside the building the Ice Titan cut down. And in a later page, students are calling family to check on them and one is grieving over her sister
- Crippling Overspecialization: Art wise, characters are detailed and well drawn. Backgrounds, not so much, or at all
- Cute Little Fangs: They look cool on Drake, but they're more adorable than menacing on Derek.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Using a drill to escape an underground colony, hmm...
- Everythings Nuttier With Squirrels: Derek considers them food and used to chase after them in the cemetery, a certain squirrel in specific is not amused
- Evil Tower of Ominousness: Aleck Von Zander stands on one in the prologue.
- Face Palm: Daniel as he berates Dwayne for his obsession with the female body
- Ghostly Chill: From Claudia and her "ghostly hugs"
- Giving Up the Ghost: By Rachael and Dory when they first meet Derek
- Goddamned Bats: Morchego summons these to deal with Daniel
- Good Wings, Evil Wings: Aleck Von Zander is notable for having both a pair of angelic, and demonic wings, though the angelic ones are smaller
- Healing Factor: Demons have this
- Humans Are the Real Monsters: Conversed by Aleck Von Zander, and appears to be the reason for his Fallen Angel status, as he preaches that vampires were forced to protect something they didn't believe in.
- I See Dead People: Lucy with her heat reading eyes
- I Shall Taunt You: Aleck to Drake, pretty much gets as close to a "Come at me bro!" without saying it verbatum
- Kamehame Hadoken: Volleyball style!
- Les Yay: Lucy to Dory, though it seems one sided. Also Lucyx Liz
- Names to Run Away From Really Fast: Aleck Von Zander
- Nightmare Fuel: Morchegos ability allows her to transfer the pain she feels onto her opponent, and since Dwayne drilled her head, yeah...
- Nosebleed
- Odd Couple: Dwayne and Daniel.
- Older Than They Look: Y'know, cause they're vampires.
- Our Vampires Are Different: Vampires are apparently a subdivision of demons rather than their own race, also notable for not having the standard weakness to the sun, and actually wanting to be in its light.
- Shout-Out: To The Legend of Zelda on this page [dead link] . In chapter 5, Derek basically quotes Haruko
- Skilled but Naive: Drake's got the skills, Derek's got the naivety.
- Shut UP, Hannibal: Right at the beginning by Daniel, but it does not end well.
- Smoking Is Cool: Chris smokes, but not to be cool.
- Split Personality: Derek and Drake are the same person...except not.
- Sweat Drop
- Technicolor Eyes: Lucy has these, not in regard to her actual eye color but what she actually sees, that being black, orange, and white, according to heat signatures from coldest to hottest
- This Is a Drill: Dwayne's Long Horn
- Three-Point Landing: Derek does this when he's first seen by the girls up close
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Being teleported in a gust of wind from a cemetery to her dorm room doesn't seem to faze Lucy in the slightest. Averted later on when she discusses it with Rachael and Dory
- Wholesome Crossdresser: Played with, Derek dresses in Lucys clothes after his first shower in months since Lucy threw out his old clothes in order to keep people from associating him to the Ice Titans attack
- With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Drake accuses Aleck of this.
