I dunno ... the story of Zzird the Beholder, renegade outcast from the underdark, who wanders the North with his companions Brainer Battlehammer ("Yeah, Zzird is mighty fierce ... but he's good at keepin' wizards away"), Elivo Underfoot ("Zzird is really a sensitive guy, y'know, but awful hard to sneak up on"), and Gulpgar the Barbarian ("Zzird talks too much") ... now that's some really good fiction.
