Mickey Mousing: Scoring a segment such that the music punctuates the physical motions occurring.

• Straight: Bob goes through his morning routine, and music punctuates whenever he's doing.
• Exaggerated: Bob goes through his morning routine, and the slightest movement causes extremely loud and bombastic music to play.
• Downplayed: Music only plays when Bob does something unusual
• Justified: Bob's house has sound cues and speakers built in.
• Inverted: An orchestra plays, and the symphony is composed entirely of sound effects.
  • Or the action of the scene is written out, instead, to match the already written musical score.
• Subverted: Bob's wacky hijinks are done in complete silence...
• Double Subverted: ...until he turns the sounds on again.
• Parodied: Bob can't get through his morning routine due to everything he does making music, which scares him.
• Deconstructed: The music is all in Bob's head, and his friends think he's nuts.
• Reconstructed: ...but Bob doesn't care. He likes it anyway.
• Zig Zagged: Music either plays or doesn't, depending on how odd the focal character is.
• Averted: Bob either goes through his routine with completely normal sounds OR the scene is silent.
• Enforced: "The kids won't like it unless there's music whenever Bob does something."
• Lampshaded: "Alice's is composing her newest work in the other room, the 'Routine of an Average Man'."
• Invoked: Bob hires a band to punctuate his routine with sound effects.
• Defied: Bob puts in earplugs so he can do his routine in peace.
• Discussed: "The music that plays whenever I do anything's getting on my nerves."
• Conversed: "See, there's music that plays whenever Bob does something."
