Michael Douglas (born 1944) is an American actor and producer, the son of famous actor Kirk Douglas. His first major role was in the TV series The Streets of San Francisco alongside Karl Malden. He has since won an Emmy, a Golden Globe and two Academy Awards, first as producer of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and his role as Gordon Gekko in Wall Street.
He's been married to Catherine Zeta-Jones since 2000. He was recently[when?] diagnosed with throat cancer, but appears to have gotten past it.
