• In 1966, MGM produced the film, Blowup, a sexy taboo smashing film the Hays Code would not approve. After learning that the censors would not budge, MGM simply defied them and released it anyway under a sub-label company created just for that film. The film went on to be a critically lauded box office smash hit that destroyed the creditability of the code once and for all.
