Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops/Trivia
- Actor Allusion: This isn't the only time Daisuke Gori played someone who defected to another group and sold out his allies. Although unlike Pigma, who was motivated by Greed, Cunningham was motivated more by Revenge, and given what he had to go through thanks to his allies/group, the CIA, its kind of hard to blame him for wanting revenge.
- Speaking of which, here's a quote from Pigma and Cunningham that has some similarities:
Pigma: "My beautiful reward! Gyaaahhahahaha...!"
Cunningham: "Why, Snake...? If you'd just gone home to America, you and I would have been given the highest honors a soldier can achieve."
- Toshio Furukawa played the young Campbell to Takeshi Aono's older Campbell. This is in reference to Dragon Ball, where Aono played King Piccolo and Furukawa played Piccolo Jr.
- Hey, It's That Voice!: Elisa and Ursula are voiced by Tara Strong.
- Gene is voiced by Vincent Valentine. Both him and the former are also cases of Funny Aneurysm Moments because they later voice Vladimir Alexandrovich Zadornov and Paz Ortega Andradne, respectively, who also were comrades in arms.
- Null/Frank Jaeger is voiced by Derrick Blank.
- The CIA Director by Jesse Corti, the voice of LeFou in Disney's Beauty and the Beast
- Cunningham in the Japanese version is Pigma Dengar.
- Python is voiced by Dwight Schultz, best known as "Howling Mad" Murdock from The A-Team. In the Japanese version, he was voiced by Yusaku Yara, Gillian Seed in Snatcher.
- Mid Development Genre Shift: Portable Ops originally began development as a competitive multiplayer shooter similar to the online multiplayer mode in Subsistence before it was made into a story-based Metal Gear Solid game.
- The Other Darrin: The CIA Director was "voiced" by Paul Collins in Metal Gear Solid 3 and voiced by Jesse Corti here. Somewhat justified, though, as while Collins might have voiced the CIA Director, he didn't actually have any lines, as he only had a minor grunt of disgust from Snake not shaking his hand.
