Loudness/YMMV
- Badass: Minoru Niihara. Just...Minoru Niihara. Despite his grief and pain, he decided to carry on the band along with Akira Takasaki in memory of Munetaka, and that's not even mentioning his vocal abilities.
- Cliché Storm: The lyrics of the second verse of the song "Ghetto Machine"[1] begin as follows:
I'm your monk
Yakuza punk
Godzilla drunk
A geisha bar
Nippon god
Asian mob
- Dork Age: Because their musical style has sometimes folllowed contemporary trends in rock / metal (e.g. hair metal in the late 1980s, thrash metal in the early 1990s, post-grunge in the mid-1990s, …), some fans will consider certain eras to be Dork Ages.
- Ensemble Darkhorse: The only band member to have their own page on this wiki is the one who remained in the band for less time than any other member.
- This is because Taiji gained most of his fame from his first major band, which he'd stayed with longer.
- Taiji had showed up at every memorial show for Munetaka, and his song "Black Widow" is still sometimes performed live by the band (now as a tribute to him as well). It is also most likely that his personal problems were why he left the band, as this was around the time his life made its turn for the worse.
- Epileptic Trees: The meaning of certain songs or song titles.
- The reason for Taiji's departure from the band and the relationship, if any, between Niihara and Munetaka are the two big areas for this aside from lyrics and such.
- The Pandemonium album: Did Munetaka Go Mad from the Revelation or was the Harsher in Hindsight just a coincidence?
- Harsher in Hindsight: Pandemonium, especially the song "Bloody Doom," but pretty much the entire album. Released in November 2001, and reading like a rant about the entire decade to follow 2001 and the War On Terror.
- Replacement Scrappy: Mike Vescera, Masaki Yamada, or both. To Minoru Niihara fans both usually are, to Vescera fans Yamada is, and to Niihara and Yamada fans (or fans of Japanese vocalists or haters of Hair Metal) Vescera is. Minoru Niihara, himself, though, actually thinks Vescera and especially Yamada were very talented.
- Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped: WAR IS HELL. WAR IS HELL. WAR IS FUCKING HELL!!!!
- As a secondary one, Nuclear weapons are BAD.
- As is political corruption.
