Legion/YMMV
- Complete Monster: Any Heavenly being, especially God, who isn't Michael. Instead of just mercifully making the planet explode, they resort to the underhanded method of bodysnatching human hosts to attack and murder other humans, some of these human suits being children. Also, if God is supposedly omnipotent, He would know about the redemptive traits of the humans in the diner, nevermind humans the world over, not to mention their selfless attempts to save each other, but ignores them in favor of continuing the genocide. If the sequel (if it's made) doesn't feature Charlie's baby overthrowing God following an epic Shut UP, Hannibal / "The Reason You Suck" Speech, there will be Hell to pay.
- Crowning Moment of Awesome: The above mentioned Bond One-Liner and its related incident for one, but there's also the preceding fight between Michael and Gabriel. Say what you will about the movie, that particular sequence was awesome.
- Crowning Moment of Funny: Michael, after giving several characters a crash-course in automatic weapons usage, says if they get it wrong it might blow their hand off. Cue everyone looking at Percy, former military man, and his hook for a hand.
Percy: "What the Fuck ya'll lookin' at me for?"//
- There's also the scene near the end where Audrey tries to shoot Gabriel in the face with a flare gun. She misses, but the flare bounces around for a bit and hits Gabriel anyway.
- And then there's this:
Bob: "I don't even believe in God."
Michael: "That's okay, Bob. He doesn't believe in you either."
- Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: When Michael tells Jeep that he's the biggest reason why he still has hope for humanity. See Big Brother Mentor above.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Two men appear; one is here to protect a waitress whose child will save the world, and one is here to destroy said waitress to prevent said child from being born.
- Everyone Is Jesus in Purgatory: Jeep is seen early on carrying a (likely) homemade crib for Charlie's baby. Like a carpenter or something. He's also not the true father of her child. Not at all like Joseph of Christian lore.
- Genius Bonus: Michael going against God (and thus being called "rebel son" by Gabriel), in some countries Christianity got a bit muddled and so there are places where Michael is the one cast from heaven for mutiny.
- Those tattoos Michael is covered in actually say things in Enochian, supposedly the language of the angels. According to Paul Bettany, one of them says, "If you're freeze-framing this film, you're really weird."
- Hell Is That Noise: Gabriel's trumpet
- Ho Yay: One particular scene with Michael and Jeep could give slash authors one too many ideas... See Crowning Moment of Heartwarming above.
- Also that scene between Gabriel and Michael right before they try to kill each other... Wow.
- They are brothers. Touching a member of your family in a tender way and professing that you don't want to kill them isn't really that far fetched.
- Also that scene between Gabriel and Michael right before they try to kill each other... Wow.
- Moral Event Horizon: The angels recruiting children as cannon fodder. That is all.
- Narm: The whole damn film is filled with Narm and Narm Charm to the brim. Moviegoers went into hysterics after watching the trailer featuring that possessed old lady climbs up onto the ceiling. The whole scene with the granny qualifies, really. Hearing an old lady say "You and your fucking baby are going to burn" is hilarious, not scary. There's also the Creepy Child ("I just want to play with your baby") and Gabriel's chainsaw-mace.
- Mileage does vary on Gabriel's mace. It's either ridiculous or So Cool Its Awesome.
- Ships That Pass in the Night: Audrey/Gabriel is rather popular on Fanfiction.net and Deviant ART. This despite the fact that the two share exactly one scene, where she tries to strangle him and they both go through the windshield of a car at 90 miles an hour. Being an archangel, he lives. She...doesn't. It's nevertheless one of the most popular Het pairings in the fandom on both sites.
