Joueur Du Grenier/YMMV
- Badass Decay: One of the reasons he dislikes Dragon Ball GT is because Trunks has become a pansy (although he is not supposed to be the same as Future Trunks).
- Crowning Moment of Funny:
- "Gudis, 120 000 tons! Well, damn, pal, this is about 12 times the weight of the Eiffel Tower!"
- "Oh, what the fuck is that? I'm chased by a walking Bic Mac?!"
- "JAPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!"
- "So, you take the four pinkest and cutest anime ever, what would happen?" Answer: Tentacles! "JAPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!"
- "Why, in three billion women, the one who landed in the island is a nutcase who kept earing voices and has god damn raisin bread instead of hands???"
- Crowning Music of Awesome: Many different kinds of music are used during his episodes, which always leads to commenters asking "What is the music from this part from?"
- Inherently Funny Words: Grenier pronouncing "Hydlide" as id-leed.
- The Problem with Licensed Games: Every licensed game he plays. Those that are not badly licensed suffer from other problems (badly adjusted difficulty etc.)
- The Scrappy: Like any self-respecting retro gamer, JDG despises the dog from Duck Hunt.
JDG: "I hate that fucking dog! The one who says he never tried and shoot it, he's a liar!"
- Scrappy Mechanic: The gravity factor in Airwolf is one of the main reasons why the game is nigh-impossible to play in an enjoyable way. The helicopter keeps going down at all time, and since it explodes almost instantly by hitting ANYTHING, JDG has to constantly give light taps on his joystick to keep the copter from crashing on the ground or going too high and crash on the ceiling.
- They Copied It, So It Sucks: When his first videos appeared, many viewers accused him of being an AVGN knockoff. It didn't help he copied a bit too much of Rolfe's trademarks... but now he has Grown the Beard (not literally, he already has one) and many French gamers prefer him over AVGN (and that doesn't include the language barrier).
- It's worth mentioning that at first he made sure not to review games already reviewed by Rolfe, a decision that has helped him avoid this trope for the most part.
- What Do You Mean It Wasn't Made on Drugs?: He often asks this questions about video games when they get too trippy, such as Astérix and the Great Rescue.
