Joey Styles/YMMV
- And the Fandom Rejoiced: First in 2005, when he was signed by WWE, and then again in 2006, when he was named play-by-play commentator for the revamped ECW.
- Crowning Moment of Awesome: His The Reason You Suck Worked Shoot, which is easily one of the best in the business. On the May 1 2006 edition of Raw, Joey Styles took then-announce partner Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross, Vince McMahon, WWE, and practically the entire American professional wrestling industry to task in his big "I Quit" speech before moving to the ECW announce position a few weeks later:
Joey Styles: Six months ago, WWE called me! I didn't call this company because I wasn't looking for a job; I didn't need a job. WWE called me, because they had humiliated and fired — again! — Jim Ross. So I get JR's spot. And from WEEK ONE, week after week, I got an ongoing lecture about the differences between Professional Wrestling and Sports Entertainment!
First of all, I think I speak for Joel [Gertner] and myself, that we're thankful we'll never be Mike Tenay and Larry Zybysko. Why don't you go sell whatever decrepit little motor home you live in, trade it in for a $.50 wrestling magazine and figure out how to spell his name? See, I remember you; you're the illiterate moron who spelled it wrong last time, six months ago. You're the best argument for not sending my kids to a public school I have ever seen!

- Harsher in Hindsight --> Dude, Not Funny: During a match featuring Mike Awesome against Masato Tanaka, Joey (who had a massive grudge against Awesome for leavign ECW for WCW), dives from the ring onto Tanaka on the outside. Styles, doing commentary, goes, "Suicide dive by Mike Awesome, and it's a shame he didn't succeed in taking his own life!" Mike Awesome hanged himself in 2007.
