Works
- Better Days
- Original Life
- A lot of porn
Tropes used by Jay Naylor include:
- Author Avatar: Usually whichever Main Character is the focus of the current comic. Most often, however, Fisk falls under this category.
- Creator Thumbprint: Objectivism and guns. And, as noted below, cheating.
- Furry Fandom
- IKEA Erotica: Naylor is not known for his creativity in sexual positions, usually using only one or two in everything pornographic he draws. At one point, he attempted to prove his detractors wrong and start a series called Kitty Sutra starring feline characters Beth and Aaron. This sort of blew up in his face since the first volume was full of some of the most tame, mundane positions there are (with Naylor using the narration to explain why the ones he doesn't draw more often suck), and he never continued the series, leaving his critics to conclude that he'd used up his entire sexual knowledge and imagination in the first one.
- Orphaned Series: Both Hell for Humanity and New Worlds were both dropped abruptly with no real ending (Naylor eventually deleted both comics in their entirety; although he once said he was planning on reviving New Worlds, he later nixed those plans for good).
- This has apparently happened to Original Life as well.
- Strawman Political: Naylor is apparently incapable of presenting anyone with a viewpoint different than his own as anything other than a braindead moron and/or raving psycho. It probably says something that many readers still like those characters better.
- Your Cheating Heart: Happens in
mostpretty much all of his work.
