• Once-Acceptable Targets: The villain, Kubla Krauss, is very obviously a Cossack Russian. Played with in that even the other Cossacks couldn't stand him!
• Tear Jerker: After everything Jack did to win the heart of the girl who he loved so much that he was willing to give up immortality for, she marries someone else, and he has no choice but to return to the heavens.
