Impossible Item Drop/Playing With
Basic Trope: Monsters, when killed, drop items that they couldn't possibly have been carrying.
- Straight: Adele the Adventurer kills a pixie and gets a suit of plate armor.
- Exaggerated: Adele kills a poisonous mushroom spore and gets a Humongous Mecha.
- Downplayed: Adele kills an enemy soldier and gets cool flaming magic sword but when the soldier fought Adele a minute ago there had been no flames.
- Justified: ???
- Inverted: Adele kills an enemy soldier and gets everything he would have been carrying in real life, including the underwear.
- Subverted: Adele kills a pixie and gets a message about a suit of plate armor, but it is pixie sized.
- Double Subverted: ...But the pixie's other drop is a morning star sized for giants.
- Parodied: Adele has to cross a swamp and because of all the flies she soon has more powerful magic items she can carry.
- Zig Zagged: Item drops either make or do not make sense, depending on the mood of the Random Number God.
- Averted: There are no item drops.
- Enforced: "It'd be a lot of work to give specific drops to every monster type, and our game isn't that realistic in the first place."
- Lampshaded: "Wow, I wonder where that pixie kept that armor."
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: Adele is imprisoned in a dungeon without equipment, and so she kills rats, knowing that after five or so she'll have enough stuff to beat the guards with ease.
- Defied: ???
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
