Key Visual Arts seems to like this trope, using it in Kanon (Minase Akiko), AIR (Kamio Haruko), and Clannad (Furukawa Sanae and her daughter Nagisa later on in the story, effectively making Sanae a rare NON-Tenchi Hot Grandma), among others.
