< Herzog Zwei
Herzog Zwei/YMMV
- Awesome Music: Goes to both prequel and sequel, considering that Zwei reuses almost the entire soundtrack of its' predcessor, with giving three original songs to the score though.
- Critical Backlash: Initial reviews for the game were abysmal as it was treated like a standard top-down shooter instead of a real-time strategy game.
- Sequel Displacement: The game's actually a sequel to an obscure Japanese MSX game titled simply Herzog. You can probably count the people who know it's a sequel on the fingers of one hand, let alone those who actually played the original.
- Or people who just know that "Zwei" is German for "2".
- Spiritual Licensee: The base capturing concept comes straight from Nether Earth, another obscure game from ZX Spectrum. Not to say about direct control method, except Herzog Zwei made it look more solid.
- Vindicated by History: The game was poorly received when it came out (by press, mainly), but is now regarded as a classic.
