• Acting for Two: Kane Hodder plays both Victor's father and Victor himself.
• Bad Export for You: The Canadian government barred the unrated version of Hatchet II from being shown in any Canadian theatres, since every film shown in Canadian theatres has to have a rating. Those behind the film didn't submit it for approval. What's more, no harm could have come from rating it as there's really no Canadian equivalent to America's stigma with the NC-17 rating.
• The Cameo: Tony Todd.
  • Creator Cameo: Film's director Adam Green appears briefly in the Mardi Gras montage.
  • Death by Cameo: Englund's character.
• Hey, It's That Guy!: A treasure trove for horror fans. Kane Hodder is Victor, Robert Englund appears in the beginning as a redneck Red Shirt, and Tony Todd has a cameo early on as Reverend Zombie (and will reportedly play a larger role in the sequel). Mercedes McNab also plays Misty.
  • And in the sequel, Danielle Harris steps in to play Marybeth.
  • And for Bones viewers, Ben is depressed lab intern Colin Fisher.
• The Other Darrin: In the sequel, Danielle Harris replaces Tamara Feldman as Marybeth.

  • There's also lots of references to the Friday the 13 th films.
  • One guys says that where he comes from the local boogeyman is named Leslie Vernon.
• Throw It In: Parry Shen came up with the magic trick in Shawn's introduction scene on the spot.
  • The psychotic laughter Marybeth indulges in when she pulverizes Victor's face with his hatchet at the end of II was not scripted, but it was left in anyway.
