Harry Potter/Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows/Tear Jerker

  • Hermione, at the beginning of the film. We see her in her room, being called down to tea. Then she enters the living room, and obliviates her parents memory. Her expression alone is enough to tear your heart out, and the slow fading of her from the photos...
  • The entirety of The Prince's Tale in the movie qualifies, but especially Snape collapsing in tears at the sight of Lily Potter's body. The part where he's hugging her body and sobbing would break your heart into a thousand pieces.
  • Dobby's death. Fatally wounded, he dies in the arms of Harry - his first true friend, but not before he manages to Face Death with Dignity - which all somehow makes it both heartwarming and tragic.

"Dobby is happy to be with his friend, Harry Potter."

  • The Resurrection Stone scene. All of it.

Harry: "Why are you here? All of you?"
Lily: "We never left."
