• Unfortunate Implications: Peter is still in love with Fran and vice-verse (the theme song even explicitly says that they're "still in love"), but he's no longer sexually attracted to her because he's gay. Fran believes that this is what means the marriage won't work, despite Peter and her parents trying to convince her otherwise. And we're expected to agree with Fran and think Peter and her parent's claims are irrelevant. So the lesson here basically boils down to "it doesn't matter if you and your spouse love each other; if you can't have sex/aren't sexually attracted to each other, then your marriage is doomed to fail."
