Basic Trope: A party member who leaves the party before the end of the game.

• Played Straight: The Damsel in Distress Olivia briefly follows around The White Prince Hiro, before he gets Lance, Dennis, Marcy, and Claudia.
• Exaggerated:
  • There are quite a few -
  • SWAD (Special Weapons Attack Droid) coming late game and usually One-Hit Kills every enemy.
  • Alfonse, next door neighbour and childhood friend, who rarely does damage, and comes at the start of the game.
  • Alfonse's brother Maurice, who will usually do 1 damage, at the start of the game.
  • Mysterous the prophet, who can use magic and does a lot of damage.
  • Olivia who does normal damage and comes in an early dungeon.
  • Morrison the tour guide in the desert area, who can do quite high damage consider how early in the game it is.
• Justified: The party members all have justified reasons for leaving.
• Inverted: You can avoid party members joining, but they join permanently.
• Subverted: The guest stars come back...
• Double Subverted: ...and leave again.
• Averted: Everyone joins permanently.
