Gorillaz/Trivia

  • Hey, It's That Voice!: Well it starts from Damon Albarn (the co-creator of the band and singing voice for 2-D -- in essence, Albarn is the band's lead singer) and goes from there. The guest performers on some of their songs include De La Soul ("Feel Good Inc.", "Superfast Jellyfish"), Del tha Funkee Homosapien ("Clint Eastwood", "Rock the House"), Shaun Ryder of The Happy Mondays ("DARE"), Bootie Brown of The Pharcyde ("Dirty Harry"), Dennis Hopper ("Fire Coming Out of A Monkey's Head"), Bobby Womack ("Stylo"), Mark E. Smith of The Fall ("Glitter Freeze"), Mick Jones and Paul Simonon ("Plastic Beach") and Lou Reed ("Some Kind of Nature").
  • According to interviews, the title of the song "Dare" came from the fact that the guest singer, Shaun Ryder, couldn't pronounce 'there' because of his accent. The original lyric was, "It's coming up, it's coming up, it's coming up, it's there!" But it was changed after a few takes proved it impossible to record that understandably.
