GoldenEye 007 (2010 video game)/YMMV
- And the Fandom Rejoiced: The announcement of the game was met with optimism and even outright joy at first. Then came the controversial announcement of Regenerating Health.
- Crowning Moment of Awesome:
- Fan Dumb:
- Brosnan reprising his role was likely impossible due to licensing issues. But apparently that change alone was enough for some to label the game ruined.
- The fact that Activision opted to remake the original instead of putting out an HD re-release of the original is something that many of the fanboys still haven't managed to accept even with there being legitimate reasons for why they can't put out an HD re-release. And even if they could it would possibly be treated with the same contempt as Turtles In Time Re-Shelled was particuarly with regards to the game's soundtrack.
- High Octane Nightmare Fuel:
- The screams and gunfire in the background in the Bunker level. Even after Natalya says everyone else is dead... THE SCREAMING DOES NOT STOP!!!
- The music is also quiet and ominous, supporting the Nothing Is Scarier feeling.
- Also, playing against anyone above Level 40 online. 40's & up feast on your tears, those over Level 50 FEEDS ON YOUR IMMORTAL SOUL!!!
- The Problem with Licensed Games: Averted. The game currently has a rating of 85.30 on GameRankings and 81 on Metacritic, and is generally regarded as the best single-player FPS for the Wii.
- Ruined FOREVER:
- Pierce Brosnan isn't James Bond? WHAT?
- At least Daniel Craig doesn't have The Wide Mouth Of DOOOOM!
- The game will no longer be exclusive to the Wii, now that it's being made for the Xbox 360 and Play Station 3. This is actually a pretty legitimate complaint. This game was one of the only, if not THE only, really high-quality First-Person Shooter games on Wii, and was considered to be a gift to Wii-owning shooter fans. It was the one thing Wii FPS fans had that the other console's FPS fans lacked. Now that the game is being remade on the other consoles with upgraded graphics, improved level design, extra missions and other goodies, the original Wii version of the game is now pretty much equal to being a video game beta that buyers paid full price for. Especially hard-hitting for those who got the more-expensive special editions with t-shirt and a golden Classic Controller Pro.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks:
- Being a remake of a classic, this was an inevitable outcome.
- You can't use RPG in Online!
- Boris does not return in multiplayer (though one of Zukovsky's mooks who shares the same name is playable).
