• Complete Monster: Winkler’s maternal grandfather. One of his uncles, the husband of his eldest maternal aunt by arranged marriage, was this toward his wife as well, eventually turning her Ax Crazy; unfortunately for him, Laser-Guided Karma caught up to him later.
• Moral Event Horizon: Dr. Levy deliberately prevents Mavis and Jeannie from taking their A-Level examinations independently, after having earlier promised that they would be able to do so and that it would not clash with the school's end-of-year exams.
• The Woobie: Winkler’s maternal aunts, once again, with the Black Sheep being the only stated exception.
