  • Creator Worship: Although the Star Wars series, or at least the prequel trilogy, has been criticized in recent years, Lucas is still a relevant figure whose influence in modern cinematography should not be taken lightly.
  • Hate Dumb: The haters are not myriad; they are legion. Yes, he deserves a lot of criticism for many things, but as with many things in the Internet, this gets exacerbated from actual criticism into excessive gratuity.
  • Ron the Death Eater: In light of the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Lucas has received this treatment regarding the making of the original trilogy movies, especially The Empire Strikes Back.
  • The Woobie: Like him or not, Lucas has gone through a lot of trouble. First, not long before graduating from high school, he gets into a near-fatal auto accident (the officer who discovered it initially reported him dead!); this accident was what inspired Lucas to go to school and become a filmmaker. The very first Star Wars film, A New Hope, was so troubling to produce that he found himself suffering heart murmurs and hypertension. After Return of the Jedi, Lucas took a break from the Star Wars franchise and the non-Indiana Jones films he produces are hit-or-miss: Howard the Duck became one of the worst movies ever made; Labyrinth and Willow both bombed, but are now Cult Classics. When he went back into it for the Prequel trilogy, his fans crucified him when it didn't live up to their expectations.
