One of the many signs of our(cultural) decline these days has been that verbal insults are almost invariably sexual or scatalogical, provoking a blizzard of asteriks whenever A wishes to put a smackdown on B. Once upon a time it was not so. Once the ability to come up with a clever insult that could be remembered was thought an important, if not a necessary, component of being a gentleman.
