• Crowning Moment of Funny: "Will you sit down!? You ass...it's distracting me."
  • Michael's introduction. Kagura's caring for her sword when suddenly a big, muscular man wearing a large afro and a Fundoshi (and nothing else) runs right up to her and scares the crap out of her until she blinds him with an aerosol can.
• Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: This anime had two good ones. One with Kagura's father's final moments with his daughter, and another when Yomi's love for Kagura possibly overpowers the will of the Sesshouseki.
• Crowning Music of Awesome: "Paradise Lost" by Minori Chihara
• Evil Is Sexy: Yomi
• Les Yay: Kagura and Yomi which later becomes Foe Yay.
• Memetic Mutation: Yomi ;_;
• Moral Event Horizon: For some people, when Yomi killed Mei. For others, it's when Yomi killed Kazuki.
• Nightmare Fuel: Anything involving the head-grabbing evil spirits.
  • From Kagura's viewpoint, having to fight Yomi.
• Tear Jerker: The entire series can be considered a big Tear Jerker, considering the manga, but the big one here comes in episode 9.
