Fright Night (2011 film)/YMMV
- And the Fandom Rejoiced: A remake? Ugh...why? Wait, David Tennant is playing Peter Vincent?
- Angst? What Angst?: What does Peter do when he realizes he's up against the very vampire that killed both his parents and Ginger? Swear for a while, and then comment on the fact that he was attacked with just a pebble.
- He does shoot at Jerry.
- Aw, Look -- They Really Do Love Each Other: Peter and Ginger have some highly entertaining friendly bickering. Her death is likely the final push that Peter needs to stop hiding and start fighting.
- Same for Charlie and Ed, as Charlie looks pretty devastated after he's forced to stake Ed.
- Complete Monster: Jerry.
- Crowning Moment of Awesome: Charley's mom. After hearing Jerry tell Charley precisely where to strike to hit the heart, she makes use of it with a Century 21 lawn sign. She still misses his heart, but it's enough to save Charley and buy them time to escape.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Jerry's attacks tend to come off as being reminiscent of sexual assault. It comes with the Complete Monster territory.
- Mr. Fanservice: David Tennant. Shirtless. In leather trousers. You're welcome.
- Evil Is Sexy: Jerry, and later Amy and Peter, with the latter one being a brief moment as Peter was in still in the process of turning.
- High Octane Nightmare Fuel: Again, just like the original film, Amy has that vampire mouth. Only in the remake, they've made it even more nightmarish.
- Also, the whole sequence where Charlie saves Doris is pretty scary.
- And he does it so nonchalantly too.
- The vampires' mouths in general. At first, you only really see fangs. However, once you see the true mouths, it's like staring into the mouths of sharks. Rows upon rows upon rows of jagged teeth.
- Jerry turning Amy. While Charlie can do nothing but watch.
- Jerry in general is just creepy as hell, even before he revealed to be a vampire. He almost comes off like a sexual predator.
- Also, the whole sequence where Charlie saves Doris is pretty scary.
- Ho Yay: Peter tells Charley he's gonna "pop his cherry" and even kisses him when Charley defeats Jerry for good.
- When Evil Ed attacks Charley and is practically lying on top of him in an attempt to bite him, he says, "Is this getting weird for you? 'Cause I'm feeling a little homo right now!"
- Especially with Evil Ed taunting Charlie about his new vampire senses. He can hear him breathing, he can feel him nearby.
- When Evil Ed attacks Charley and is practically lying on top of him in an attempt to bite him, he says, "Is this getting weird for you? 'Cause I'm feeling a little homo right now!"
- No Yay: Jerry. With everyone. It comes to the point of Jerry being a Memetic Molestor.
- Tear Jerker: Evil Ed's death scene. The fact that he's portrayed more sympathetically in this one really dosen't help.
Evil Ed: It's ok, Charlie. *Turns to dust*
- Visual Effects of Awesome: The vampire teeth, the final showdown, and many others. On the more technical side, there's the elaborate long take during the highway chase, with the camera moving in-between the car seats and characters. It owes a lot to Children of Men, but it's still well done.
