• Growing the Beard: After its initial writer was replaced, the Jason Rusch series started being a bit more light-hearted while also working at making Jason a more likable character
• Replacement Scrappy: Jason in the eyes of some fans.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Jason, as he started to mature in his own series, acting more heroic and getting his act together
