Fire Emblem Jugdral/Trivia
- Acclaimed Flop: While Thracia 776 received all-around good scores from critics, the game sold terribly due to being released in January 2000: way past the prime of the Super Famicom's life.
- Fan Nickname: "Fat Shota Sigurd" for Sharlow.
- Fountain of Expies: The Beowolf Archetype, mercenaries that can be recruited for the cost of a massive amount of gold.
- Marth Debuted in Smash Bros: Princess Ayra's set to appear in Fire Emblem: Awakening as DLC.
- Name's the Same:
- Princess Ethnia shares the same name with the Queen of Alster, Miranda's deceased mother. It's been speculated that they may have been intended to be the same person, but the 20th Anniversary book doesn't seem to support it.
- Liza shares the same name with Marth's mom and Sasha's mom.
- Robert shares the same name (and even a similar class) with another character from Fire Emblem Akaneia.
- Homer shares the same name with Homer Simpson which fans have cracked jokes about.
- No Export for You: Pretty much the biggest "gap" in official Fire Emblem releases at this point. Both Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776 have fan translations, but no remakes or anything similar have been announced, and the originals are rather too old for meaningful export at this point.
- Shrug of God: The deal with Finn being either Nanna's canon father or her Parental Substitute. While it's stated in Fire Emblem's 20th Anniversary Book that her biological father is whoever the player married Lachesis to, and that Finn is more of her adoptive father... the pool of men that Lachesis can marry in Genealogy of the Holy War includes Finn and Thracia 776 has Nanna unable to use the Beo Sword (unlike her older brother Diarmuid and Beowulf's Heroic Bastard Fergus), so the matter remains muddled.
- What Could Have Been:
- For Genealogy of the Holy War:
- Sigurd started off as a Junior Lord like his son, and Cuan started out as a Master Knight, following the traditional series convention of Magikarp Power Lord and Crutch Character guardian more closely.
- Leaf, Ethlin and Lachesis were going to be Lord characters (i.e. if any of them died, you got a Game Over).
- Manfroy had his own unique class, rather than being a generic Dark Bishop.
- Trabant didn't die after you fought him; he would return in Chapter 10 and become an NPC after talking to Altenna.
- Levin's son had to receive Holsety from Levin himself in Chapter 10 (making it Last-Disc Magic rather than the Disc One Nuke it was in the final release).
- Hilda would have major Fala blood and weild FalaFlame in the final chapter. Fans speculate she was planned to be Alvis' sister.
- Alvis was going to be the Brainwashed and Crazy foe in the final chapter, rather than Yuria. Whether or not that means he could be saved is unknown.
- Kaga didn't want Julius to die after his defeat; instead, he'd be freed from Loptous's control, courtesy of The Power of Love from Julia.
- It's said Lachesis was supposed to have been turned into stone by Veld in Thracia 776, thus giving the possibility of having her recruited. Also, she was THIS close to be the mother of her brother Eltshan's son Aless... Also, Vylon was Diadora's father, not Kurth (kinda makes sense given Kurth looks absolutely nothing like her) which would have made the game's Official Couple incest too (unless Vylon was not Sigurd's father at that point, which is definitely possible). Oh, and Celice and Yuria would automatically become lovers in Chapter 8. Yes, there was actually going to be MORE incest in this game. Altenna and Areone would become auto-lovers too, but thankfully, they're Not Blood Siblings, and there were some definite hints of this in the final game.
- Uncomfirmed reports of what could have been in Thracia 776 include:
- Veld possibly not being the Anticlimax Boss he was.
- The "substitute characters" being playable in Thracia 776.
- Ishtar, Manfroy, and Julius were fightable and would attack the player if they got too close. Data exists to confirm that Ishtar would be fightable at one point. Chances are, people would try to see if you could kill them.
- Mentioning that Evayle might have been Briggid from the start.
- Reinhardt would be recruitable.
- A desert chapter involved freeing people turned to stone by Veld.
- Daisy, Femina, Janne and Asaello were supposed to appear in Thracia 776, alongside Arthur from the original kids group.
- There was a scene planned where Areone kills Dean for his relationship with Linoan.
- Gunna seems to have been playable at one point.
- Lopto/Loputosu was originally going to be called "Loki".
