Fanboys/Heartwarming

Film

  • The entire premise that the sole reason they are reviving the crazy plan to break in and steal the advanced print is so Linus can watch it before he dies of cancer.
  • The scene where Linus is given permission to watch the movie is a complete Tear Jerker. The closeup of the film being loaded into the reel projector is so sensitive compared to much of the frat boy humour of the film.
  • Most of Linus' expressions, especially when he inches closer towards forgiving Bottler for bailing on his friends.
    • Linus watching the movie alone, close to tears and reverent rather than excited as he should be.
    • Linus sitting by the campfire, as he peacefully closes his eyes and passes on.
  • Chaz is a dick to Eric & his friends at the start of the film, but at the end he tells two nerds criticising Eric's comic book to show some respect & ask for his autograph.

Webcomic

  • In the most recent strips as of this writing, Sylvia has been moping due to the fact that a toy store she had adored in her childhood was scheduled to be torn down, the owner, whom was always good to her, having died years ago. After a terrible day that started with a bloodied nose caused by a dumb joke from Paul and ended with her quitting her job, which she despised, she found herself back at the old abandoned toy store's lot, crouched up against the building and thinking about the past. Paul came by and offered a sincere apology for earlier. And then Lemmy made everything even revealing that he had bought the building and lot, thus saving Sylvia's happy childhood memory from destruction. The way the strip started made it even more of a happy Tear Jerker, as it started out looking like Lemmy was about to propose, the keyring being the first thing shown, drawn to look like a wedding band.
